This is from a newsletter sent by Bishop Gene and Phyllis Lilly to supporters.
Davao City, Philippines
Dear Fellow-Workers in Christ,
The work in Davao City and the surrounding area is growing by leaps and bounds. Mental is a town about 1 hour from Davao and has a new church. I held the first service there on December 11 and just 3 weeks later they had a permanent place to meet. Now they are getting ready to buy some land for a church, all in a period of a few weeks. The hunger for Jesus is exciting. We are seeing healings, deliverance, the faithful being filled with the Holy Ghost and people coming to Jesus and their lives being changed.
We will be going back on March 30, 2010 and are excited about getting there. The children’s feeding program and ministry is booming. Over 200 children received wrapped Christmas presents this year. Many of them had never had a Christmas present. You will see pictures [on the CECHome flickr page]. As always we need your help in prayer and finances. Travel cost continues to go up with many new fees added to your ticket price. It seems they are added daily. Hotel cost is higher but God is the supply through his faithful people. As the need is supplied then His faithful are blessed and the Gospel preached.
A Word from Phyllis
I praise God for what He is doing in the children’s ministry and with the youth. It is exciting to watch them grow in the knowledge of God and to begin to put it into practice in their lives. It has always been the desire of my heart to minister to the children whenever my feet have touched the soil of a nation. Fruit is coming forth and I believe that out of this beginning will come forth the Children’s Homes that He has laid upon my heart to start. God opens the doors for us to walk through and this door is open wide. Pray for wisdom and discernment for us as we continue this mission.
Psalms 37:4 says “Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Desires is plural and the ministry is one of those spiritual desires.
He will also give you normal desires that you have believed for many years. I am attaching a picture that is the fulfilling of another desire. Gene and I have been believing for a Corvette for 52 years and God has given us that desire a 2003. Let me encourage you to delight yourself in the Lord and hold onto to those dreams, hopes and desires. He is a loving Father who is the provider of all our needs and wants.
