I commend to all our Christians the viewing of the IDA Christmas Offering video. The scenes brought back joyful remembrances to me and thanksgiving for the years I was allowed to serve Jesus as Canon and later Supervising Bishop in Africa. As the Patriarch stated, the need is tremendous, and God gives us the opportunity to encourage our brothers and sisters on the mission field through our Christmas offering.
I want to challenge each member of the CEC this year to give to the IDA offering a gift equivalent to what you would spend on one of your children or one of your grandchildren. In difficult times the first thing a church eliminates is its mission support. That should not be. God does not honor our keeping everything for ourselves, but will abundantly bless when our hand is extended to helping others. In hard times it is wise to double one’s mission support. Prayerfully consider your gift in Jesus Name.
