At our semi-annual Convocation, September 24 - 26 which was held this year at St. Paul’s Charismatic Episcopal Church in Henderson, NV. The Diocese of the West was very honored to have Archbishop Craig Bates as our guest. Along with some very profound and meaningful teaching from Abp. Bates, there was much fellowship and camaraderie with the clergy and wives. Archbishop Bates stayed in town an extra day and was the celebrant at the Sunday morning worship service at St. Paul’s. On Friday night, we all had dinner together at a nearby facility after which Michael Clayton a local “Robin Williams look alike” and occasional visitor to St. Paul’s entertained us with songs, dances and lots of very funny humor. Bishop Douglas Kessler, the Bishop of the Diocese, was with us and provided some very wise counsel as well as the homily at the memorial service for Fr. John Callard on Saturday September 27. The next convocation of Diocese of the West will be at the Cathedral in San Clemente in the Spring.
